Titantic is the all time grossing movie at 1.835 Billion dollars and it Will soon be blown off it's long time perch by Avatar.

Avatar has grossed 1.606 Billion dollars in only 32 days, and there is no sign of it slowing anytime soon.

What is even more mind numbingly werid is that, imo, Titanic wasn't that great of a movie, and I am !Quite! surprised it needed to be toped by a movie such as Avatar.

Thoughts? :umm:

I think a more appropriate number would be the number of times people paid to see it rather than how much money it makes. Star Wars was the king and got there when tickets were $2. How much does it cost now to get in?

it was bound to happen sometime i guess.

interesting to see what other movies had made. too many h. potter movies near the top though >.<

i wonder what the lowest grossing movies are. i remember i saw on the news that some POS movie that starred paris hilton made only like $10K opening day or something like that which IMO was way too high.

There you go. Adjusted for inflation gross income. Not positive about what figures they started with but Titanic comes in at number 6. I would have put star wars at number one as I probably paid to see it at least 10 times.

That's a good list.

You also have to add the fact that Avatar also has most ticket sales at a premium price for the 3D version.

Never heard of Pocahontas but reading the wikipedia entry, does sound similar, yes :p
