If the pump action is hard to use, it really will have nothing to do with the trigger assembly. When you cleaned the rifle did you use a solvent on it and then follow up by re-lubing all the moving parts?
If you don't re-lubricate certain parts, the action won't cycle very smoothly. Tear down the pump action and lube everything the slide rails and such.
