Ahh, lightning!!

I was told by the insurance company that most PCs get fried because of phone cords going to the modems.

However, my new surge protector has the phone cord plugged into it. Besides that, I'm now on cable and don't even have a dial-up modem.

It's been a few years ago in October that lightening hit our house. The computer and the heat pump were the two things affected.

The CPU had a funny smell and no longer operated. The monitor was just dead. The mouse had a brown spot on it like something tried to burn its way out from the inside. And the surge protector, well, it didn't.
