my first inclination was that it had something to do with the monitor, are you sure it's coming from the pc?

And i've got a pretty standart 5.1 surround card....

try unplugging the monitor and then moving your mouse. Also, maybe try with a new keyboard/mouse. If you have a wireless keyboard mouse that might cause the problem.

yeah dude, ikt's all got to do with frequency and stuff. When your procesor frequency varies, then there is all wavelengths and stuff that cause electric interference. It is NORMAL, and there is also line noise in the electrical system and all kinds of places. What kind of speakers are they? Are they cheap ones? The higher end speakers are all sheilded and stuff so that sort of thing dosent happen.
