Question Problems flashing BIOS..

Okay..so, I just got a new processor, this is all new to me, blahblahblah. Point is, I've got an ASUS motherboard, so it's got that whole EZFlash thingy that you access by hitting ALT+F2 during start-up right after the POST. When it opens the EZFlash thangy, there's a box requesting I type in the name of the file(the new BIOS); however, my keyboard likes to not work at this point. In fact, the only thing that does work is manually turning the computer off. Any clues on what's wrong? I'm pretty positive the keyboard's not a USB board, also, because I was told that might be a problem.

That's pretty strange. Are your sure you need to flash your BIOS anyway? If your don't absolutely need to flash it, I wouldn't.

As far as I can tell, yes, I do. I'm working with an A7N8X mobo and according to the Support of Processors thing at ASUSTeK's site, atleast as far as I understand it, it links directly to the new BIOS information I need..or something. I'm updating from an AMD Athlon XP 1700+ to an AMD Athlon XP 2700+, and I'm running on a rev 1001.E and the new BIOS files are 1004 or something similar.

This is exactly what was on ASUSTeK:
CPU: Since PCB: Since BIOS:
Athlon XP 2700+(333FSB) 1.04 1001C
(Model 8)(Thoroughbred)

Memo
Check PCB and BIOS versions before flashing BIOS!

Er.. The Since PCB is the 1.04(which matches my own)and the since BIOS is the 1001C, which, in file-form, is 1010-B.BIN.

If the keyboard plugs into a USB slot it's USB otherwise it's PS2, but regardless it should still work. I suppose your only option is to simply try a PS2 keyboard instead of a USB if you indeed do have USB
