Default Is it possible to disable my extra antivirus programs till I may need them?

Hi! I'd like to know if it is possible to keep several anti-virus programs without their interfering with each other or the registry, if the extra, less used antivirus programs are disabled until they may be needed again?

Well you can disable them any time you want. But running 7 is alot. They will interfer, because some will be more strick then others. Such as, one may let you transfer files through AIM, but the other wont. Problems like that will occur. But all you need is 1 firewall.

Thank you for explaining! So I guess I will uninstall all of my antiviruses except for the one that I use and which works best for me - Adaware.

A/V = anti-virus
AdAware is anti spyware/malware removal (not prevention) and will have no effect on your A/V (anti virus software)

Debby, you need to run an anti/virus, a firewall, and then add, AdAware SE, Spybot Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster,SpywareGuard as a MINIMUM.

For an anti/virus download one of these:
Avast! Home Edition
AntiVir Personal Edition
AVG Free Edition
All three are free for personal use.

For a firewall, download one of these:
ZoneAlarm Free
Sygate Personal Firewall
They are free for personal use.

Then download each of these programs and use them at least 2-3 times a week:
Ad-Aware SE Personal
SpyBot-Search & Destroy 1.3
Spybot - Search and Destroy DSO Exploit Fix 1.3.1 TX (this is the DSO Exploit fix for the Spybot and only has to be run ONCE)

Download these two and update 2x weekly at minimum.
SpywareBlaster
SpywareGuard
These two KEEP spyware out but do NOT remove it. Liz

Hi! Thanks for explaining! I don't have a firewall yet. But I'll see about getting one. For some reason, my Avast hasn't been working, so I have been using my Adaware antivirus, and it has worked very well so I'm glad!
