Default pc starts in 4 minutes...

I just got a new pc wich has:
motherboard: asus k8n
graphics: geforce fx5700le (256mb)
ram: 2x512 MB (kingstone, compatible with the motherboard)
hd: western digital 120 gb
dvd/rw nec
dvd sony

I installed windows OK but it needs 4-5 minutes in order to open windows. it spends a lot of time when the logo with bar shows up. It's reasonable for a couple of times because it could be reading new devices etc. but it's the same all the time... Any suggestions?

Default

you didnt state how fast your cpu is and what version of Windows it is? but if the PC you bought is new and does have a good CPU (which i guess it would with the state of the art graphics and ram you have in there) then the first thing to check is what it is actually loading up on startup, go start>>run>> "MSCONFIG" and have a look around there for anything suspicious.
