Exclamation OS Won't boot

Hey guysl, I have another Toshiba notebook. It has Win XP Pro and it won't boot. I get the windows logo, and then the screen goes blank, but it won't boot after that. I've tried going through safe mode, but the same thing happens. I can only think of doing a restore, but with Toshiba, then only option is to reinstall the whole OS. Does anyone know of a way around this?

Have you tried selecting the boot menu (as if you were going choose safe mode) but selecting 'last known good configuration' instead?

Good idea. Just tried it, but it is still not booting. I get the windows logo, and it disappears like normal, and that's it, nothing. Help!!!

if you've got the OS CD, you can do a repair-install by first starting setup, and after it says "checking for previous versions of Microsoft Windows" press r

I would do a repair, but as I said, with Toshiba notebooks, it doesn't give you the option to do a repair, just a reinstall. Unless the professional setup is different from the home edition. I'll have to get the CD and try I suppose. Anything else?
