Default Monitor Power

My monitor keeps sort of waving from site to side much like a flag in the wind, but in a vertical position. Might have something to do with the power, im not sure but I think it does this if it has been on for more than 6 to 8 hours. And I don’t know if is something that needs fixing or normal. its a plug and play 'pray', using xp home,.

Any ideas please let me know.

Try adjusting your refresh rate (display -> settings -> advanced -> monitor)

Generally I noticed if a monitor has this problem lowering the refresh rate helps (although setting it too low can cause your eyes to bug out after a while... 70 is the lowest I can handle, some people can do lower but it's a personal preference)

Also try Degaussing it. How old is the monitor too?

Make sure nothing is drawing too much power from the same plug your monitor gets its power. If connected to a surge protector thats overloaded, sometimes the monitor doesn't get enough power and waves like that.
