Default making your own rounded cables

Thanks to Holocron the following is a small tutorial on how to make your own rounded cables:

Step 1: Cut BETWEEN the actual cables.

Just enough so you can pull the apart.

Step 2:

Do that for all of the wiring on the IDE Cable until it looks like the included picture.

Step 3: (Last One)

Once you are done seperating all of the cables, simply tie them up to form a rounded cable. You can use cable ties, or black electrical tape, its up to you. It isn't the pretiest thing in the world but it will definitely improve your air flow until you can save enough money to get all of the fancy new rounded cables.

Have u tried and tested he cable to make sure it works!!!! i'd be scared i cut through the wrong bit!!!! But otherwise that looks pretty cool!!!

yep, and it work real well, each and every cable i ever made. its best to use a new razor blade and do it on a with a wooden surface underneath as your making the slices. it custs pretty easy.

I also skipped every 3 strands, but you just make an initial slice then pull them apart.

Damn .... i just bought the new cables! WHY DIDNT I SEE THIS EARLIER ?!?!?!?! Great idea tho!

Or go mad and upgrade to SATA.

But seriously rounded cables are only £2, for good ones.

Having said this I did once wedge a cd drive in with bits of the daily telegraph.

errr, not everyone can AFFORD going sata.....and thats precisely why this tutorial was put up. when one is limited for cash, one must seek alternatives......
