Exclamation building pc, installing software

Stupid question, but, first time building a comp. How do you use a cd to install the OS if your mobo doesn't recognize the cd-rom drive? Does the BIOS automatically detect the drive once it's plugged in?

Send a message via Yahoo to intercodes

Yes, The BIOS recognizes the CD-ROM automatically. You dont have to worry about installing any drivers. Just put in your Bootable OS Cd into the cd drive and start your installation.

Default make sure in order

Hi, I would suggest making sure in the bios that the first boot is the cd rom were your operating system will load. Then, whatever, floppy, hardrive, etc....... after installation setup bootable anyway you perfer. My preference is floppy then harddrive then rom drives
