Whoa, looks expensive!

I think you can get Windows XP Home Edition for a lot cheaper.

Yes, I agree.

I'm from Canada and an OEM for Windows XP home is $115 CAD.

When you purchase a new motherboard, you are eligable to purchase an OEM operating system.

Dude your paying way to much for that processor. Heres a link for that processor for 190$ yo. Its retail. If you dont know what Retail means- CPU's dont come with FANS/HEATSINKS. But your computer is custom so why the hell would you want a stock fan/heatsink.

Your paying WAYYYY to much for those items man. You can get your motherboard for 180$$$. Second Link.

Dont buy things from Bestbuy man.... I would say to go with AMD 64 BIT Processors. They are built alot better i think. I wouldent want to get a 3.0ghz /800fsb. That speed isent very balanced. Maybe a AMD Athlon 3200 (2.0ghz/1600fsb) and if you like Windows you can run that operating system with it. You can get that processor for 205$. Very Very good processor.

@ ben_1001: you really do not have to spend that extra money for the corsair xms unless you want to overclock your ram.

@ ben_1001: you really do not have to spend that extra money for the corsair xms unless you want to overclock your ram. Also keep in mind that intel's cpu's are better office and multimedia, while amd is better for gaming. If i were you, I would get a AMD Athlon 64 3400+. They are the best bang for your buck. http://www.zipzoomfly.com has very good deals and the small stufff is free second day shipping.

Get this cpu for socket 939:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-463&depa=1
$272.00 USD (FREE SHIPPING!)

Get this cpu for socket 754:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-484&depa=1
$219.00 USD (FREE SHIPPING!)

Why get socket 939 when 754 is cheaper?
Well, 939 will be better in the future because they will be making new cPus for that in the future when the 754's will be outdated.

-Remember that if you got with amd, with socket 754 or 939, you will need to change your motherboard. Abit is a good cheaper brand too (cheaper than asus).

EDIT:sorry for the double post I did not realize it submitted before, because I wanted to add more text.

What would make the 9600XT better than the 9800 Pro that outdoes the price increase? Especially if you're OC'ing.
128mb is plenty, unless you like your lawnmower to have a 30 gallon gas-tank.

Some tests have also (according to someone else here, I admit) proved that the extra memory can actually slow the speed.
