Default Building a new computer

Hello to all ,finally I managed to find this great forum where I can really get "professional" help .So I've built my custom computer but first I'm not sure if the parts are compatible and if the thing I built is the optimal for the cash I have(660$)it's not very much but hey,if I had more I wouldn't be worry would I .So here is the configuration.

Motherboard: ASUS A7V8X-X/KT400/DDR400/LAN
CPU: AMD XP 3000+/FSB 400 /512K
RAM: 512MB DDR400
Floppy: 1.44 MB SONY
Video: Jetway ATI RADEON 9600LE Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "96LE-AD-128C" -RETAIL
Monitor: LG 17 FLATRON EZ T710BH/71K/99
Keyboard: PS2 C/L KB-2401/SLIM/WIN98
CD-RW recorder: LITE-ON CD-RW 52/32/52 BLACK
Media: Live Player 5.1 PCI Creative

And I also wonder from quite some time now what is the better choise for a video card for a price 100$ max.Radeon or Geforce?!!I saw that the core speed of the radeon cards is higher than the Geforces' ones so what is better for the money I have?Radeon or Geforce...

DON'T GET AN X600!! Get an X700, much better. The X600 was a miserable failure on ATI's part.

ClockCore speed : 400mhz
Effective Memmery Speed: 800mhz 256bit

For gaming use dont exceed under those limits. So you might wanna save some money for a 200$ video card. If not then results will be weak.

Finished With TF.
