Default build a new computer

hi i am new here
i am going to build a computer(for gaming, web browsing, and running many applications) and wondering if this is a good setup and will it go all together. i am running in a low budget ($600) and if you have a comment plz tell me thank you

Motherboard:Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra
HardDrive:Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9
DVD:Sony DRU 500AX
Video:G4Ti4200 VTD64 GeForce4 TI 4200
Case:Silver PowMax Demon ATX
RAMS:Kingston PC3200 512mb 400mhz
Monitor:SONY 17" LCD TFT

If i were you I would go for a better mobo, one with an Nvidia chipset for example. While many people don't think so mobos make a big difference and the Nvidia ones are good. Looking at the detailed pic of the mobo.

You'll notice some big capacitors next to the CPU socket, as such you'll have to use the stock AMD heatsink or a thermalright


As is standard with AMD compatable Mobos you will notice 3 RAM slots, only use two of them otherwise your dual channel dies. Also make sure you buy 2x256Mb RAM chips, since otherwise you won't get the dual channel mode in the first place.

Your right to go for the Nvidia graphics card though, they are better than ATI for lower spec cards.

Sorry but with only 600$ it will be impossible to built a gaming computer. A gaming video card and processor togather will be about 450$ alone.

I built my computer really cheap with a $700 budget, and it runs games really good. Not on super super high graphics but It runs them at good FPS
