Default 32 bit computers and a 64 bit server?

At my job all of our computers are running 32 bit OS (vista) and we are looking at getting into a new server. 90 percent of the quotes we are getting are for a 64 bit server running 2008 R2 and exchange 2010. My question is this:
I understand the diffrence between the 32 bit and 64 bit OS's and I can understand why you want a server running 64 bit OS so:
Will everything still work together with all of the computers running 32 bit OS and connecting to a 64 bit OS server? Or will all of the PC's have to be upgraded to a 64 bit OS?
