xp guardian 2010

I have somehow downloaded a programme, xp guardian 2010, which i later identified as a trojan. While trying to fix this i have created a number of problems.
When i went on programmes like Firefox or AVG i was having to choose the programme which i wanted to use to oipen the file. I then went on Ccleaner and scanned for issue in the registry. this found and fixed some problems.
Now when i go on AVG i have to choose which user accounto i want to run the programme on, and when trying to access firefox i still have to choose the programme to open the file.
Does anyone know any way that i can sort this out?
