viruses and spyware removal?

The only way I know how to remove a virus or spyware, besides using anti-virus and anti-spyware removal programs, is to look up the sucker on google to see if theres a removal tool or directions. Does anyone else have other ways to remove malicious code?

Hijackthis.

i think i've used that program once but couldnt tell what I needed to do afterwards. Do you look for lines that don't look normal?

You can usally google suspicious entries. But you should really learn how to use the whole entire program.

You could look at some Spyware and hijackthis walk through guides.

I Do not Have any certifications as of yet and I am still trying to get a IT/Tech/Computer related job.

A+ is the soonest one I will have then onto Network+ and Server+.

Im 18 and Graduating soon, So I will have alot more time to search.
