I have been having this issue for a few days now, and have searched for a solution with little results. When I start my computer up, a message comes up: "Windows cannot open this file: MSIA464.tmp." It goes on to give me the option to open it manually or use the web to determine a program. The only thing I have found in my search is that it is possibly malware. However, I have done several AVG scans, and it finds nothing harmful on my system. I have tried searching for the file on my PC, and found nothing - even after showing hidden files. If anyone could help, please let me know.

Go to start, run, type msconfig and press enter.

Go to the startup tab, uncheck everything except the antivirus and reboot.

Put a checkmark in the box on the bottom left hand side of the System Configuration Utility and click ok.

Did that resolve your issue?

Yes...and better yet, it showed me where the .tmp file was located. It was from a game I recently installed but did not register.

Thank you so much.
