Task Manager, Regedit, MSConfig wont work

i dont think this is correct. i dont think that the W32.Spybot.Worm has anything to do with Spybot: Search and Destroy. Symantec says that this particular worm spreads through KaZaA and mIRC. It doesnt mention Spybot anywhere. However, I may be wrong. Why do you say this worm has to do with Spybot: Search and Destroy?
 
The reason I know is I downloaded, from Cnet, a copy of Spybot to a cd for my father and then installed. It turned out to be infected. We got his computer clean. I then downloaded a CLEAN copy from majorgeeks web site and put it on there a few months later, and reinfected him. He didn't have it JUST before I installed it, I KNOW the majorgeeks copy was clean cause I scanned it before I left here and yet he got the worm as soon as I loaded it. Liz
