I've got a little problem with a trojan I've picked up somehow. It installed some fake, bogus, virus scan (or at least an imitation of one) on my computer as well as redirecting my google searches to the regular smut (viagra, various shopping sites, etc). I've run several McAfee virus scans and deleted the files that it found as well as running safe mode and deleting the specific files that were causing the trouble, under something along the lines of C/WINDOWS/system32/(insert file name here). I'd really appreciate it if anyone had any ways of getting rid of this virus for good...thanks for your time! :)

Running into a problem. Following the guide you linked me to, I can't download AVG Anti-Spyware. I've gone to countless different sites, and on all of them I either get linked to a page (on firefox) that says failed to connect or (on Internet Explorer) Internet Explorer cannot display this page. I'm not sure if this is related to the spyware or not, but I think it is. There are some pages that wont even load. In a couple of rare occasions, such as filehippo, I only got an incomplete or corrupted download.

Thank you! I ran Trojan Remover and that seems to have taken care of the problem. I'm now able to download AVG Anti-Spyware, and now I plan on running that just to double check. I will definitely be more careful online now, and once again, thank you!:D
