i have done everything and finally realised that i definatly need to do a virus scan. so i downlaoded eTrust EZ Anti virus and it came up with 76 infected files. they were all delt with and the computer (laptop) was reset but still everynow and then everything goes really slow.
there nothing irregular in the process list and I also have a great little program which clears my memory of unnessisary data. all these programs I have had for ages.
It seems that something is wrong and I can not for the life of me think what.
