Rootkit.

Today Ibooted up my computer, and I'm really pissed. I've heard this rootkit is serious crap and can't be detected. Norton anti virus picked it up today it was read trojan.rootkit, so, how do I get rid of it if I can?

Do you know the full name by chance? There are all types of rootkits out there..

I have found ways to detect rootkits but only found the solution of reloading as removing them.

I have manually removed them or use MAS, never had to reload

What is MAS? How can you manually remove them? Please fill me in. I have a PC with a rootkit on it and I really do not want to reload it. Too much data to restore in the correct places.

To be honest, I cannot remember. However when I googled it, there was nothing out there on it. I have this PC at work. I'll find out Tuesday when I return.
