I removed a rogue virus from my computer about a month ago or so. Since then, I have had limited access to my computer, even through the 'secret' administrator account.
When I attempt to access certain things, I simply can't. For example, when I attempt to access a wireless network, and I cannot, I attempt to click on 'Open Network and Sharing Center'. I clicked on it, but nothing happened. Another example is that I tried to right click 'Computer' in my start menu, and click 'Properties.' I can right click computer, but when I click on properties, nothing happens.
I almost want to say that this rogue virus removed some important entries from my registry. I can't remember the name of the Rogue Virus but I do know that when it first installed itself on my computer, It removed ALL of my desktop shortcuts, and marked EVERY file in my 'Program Files(x86)' folder as hidden. I first believed everything had been erased, but I noticed my hard drive space had not been effected so I figured that the files must be hidden.
Again, I don't remember the name of the Rogue Virus but I know it advertised itself as hard drive error correction/drive cleaning software or something of that sort.
