So I'm on the web, and a windows box pops up warning me that I've been infected with spyware. Everything freezes, then it says my computer is under the remote control of (ip adress). I exit out of everything, update my norton and spysweeper and run full virus and spyware scans. I find a few items and quickly delete them. Then this bubble pops up on my desktop (see picture) and it automatically downloads "spy axe" (see icon on desktop in picture). "Spy axe" somehow magically scans my entire drive in about 45 seconds and finds dozens of suposed threats. I click "clean" and what do you know!? I have to buy the program to clean the threats! Gee! Is this some kind of a scam to try to trick me into buying this program? Again, my spysweeper and norton scans report everything is A-okay. So wtf.

That's definetly a scam if it just popped up out of no where and scanned in 45 sec.

Didn't you already post this?

run hijackthis this post log.

Ditch norton use AVG.

Download, update and run Adware SE personnel, and Spybot Search and Destroy.
