Preftech files

Hi, first of all thanks Osiris for the spyware removal guide.
I'm in middle of going through the guide and i installed CleanUp! but the option "delete preftech files" is grayed out i.e. not "clickable". Should i just skip the step, or is it important, and what is causing this?

p.s. what are preftech files anyway?

Sorry, i'm running windows vista.
Also I'm running smitfraudfix and it asked me if i want to fix the registry. After selecting yes, its on the same screen for about ten minutes. is this normal?

Well I guess give it a while. Your the first I've heard of this. If it stays like that for about 30 minutes or so see if you can kill it and then just finish the guide

Vista uses super fetch not prefetch. That is why this option is disabled on Vista/Win7 machines.

Prefetch means that some commonly used programs has aspects of their program included in teh startup of Windows XP so that the program loads faster.

Super Fetch is basically the same thing but better.

Isnt Smitfraud the one that should be run from Safe Mode?
