If the system is that badly infected it will be easier just to wipe the drive and reinstall the OS.

I think I can anticipate you next question, and this would be about wiping the hdd. There are programs out there which will over write the hdd with 1 and 0 making any information on the disk unreadable for most purposes. This will give you a clean disk to start fresh with.

Kill disk is a freeware program which does a good job, you download this and boot from it to wipe the drive. You can download it here.

just dont restart or unplug/ turn it off while it is doing this, or, as u guesssed it, a fryed hdd

I performed killdisk on the hardrive, which it did succesfully.

But now I have no d: drive and my boot disk won't work. I made a boot disk through windows (when you format it) but it wont work.

What do I do now, this isn't my computer!!!

you dont need the bootdisk.....

i came out of killdisk, into the dos screen, and all there is, is the a: drive

I typed in d: (having put the windows cd in) and it tells me this is an invalid drive!

How do i reinstall the d: drive?

I managed to reinstall windows but for some reson I cant change any of the display settings. There is only one setting, which means that everything is really big.

This wasn't the case before I deleted the hard drive and reinstalled windows.

Someone please help, is it something to do with the graphics card?

It says on the front of the pc that it is 3D AGP, Intel Extreme Graphics AGP!

So you have done a complete reformat and re install?

Have you installed all nessarcary drivers?
