Yesterday my cousin was infected with a MSN / WLM virus. Basically it sent a message out to all her contacts saying "OMG, is this you? :S (link to JPEG image file)".
Thinking nothing of it, I clicked on it and a DOS or PIF file or something was downloaded to my PC. I deleted it straight away, checked for any unwanted services and startup programmes, ran several virus scans with different software and all seemed to be well.
However, now, when I use Windows Live Messenger, very often I don't receive messages and invites from contacts and sometimes they don't from me. I've tried reinstalling Windows Live several times but to no avail. I really don't want to use any other IM clients, and I'd REALLY appreciate it if one of you great guys out there could help me fix this problem. Thanks.
