I purchased this s/w recently. I cannot do a backup/recovery point onto my CD RW drive. I was able to do an initial backup of my HD onto the HD, pretty useless if I crash, but at least I know that works. Plus, my drive was almost 50% full, so now I have very little HD space left.

Been in contact with their customer support several times, no luck

So far, this is what I've tried:

1) Install, uninstall, reinstall several times.
2) Verified that my drive is supported
3) Verified that the many CDs I tried to use were fine
4) Did a Windows Cleanboot
5) Updated CD drive drivers
6) Updated configuration files
7) Ran chkdsk on my HD (no problems)
8 ) I don't have Norton Goback on my PC
9) Verified with tech support that I used all the correct options

This is the error message I get:

Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Complete System Backup -- Unable to open a new track for writing on removable media. Be sure that the media is compatible with the device and that it is properly inserted. The device must also support either variable or fixed packet writing.

I'm running XP Pro, if that makes a difference.

I'm at a loss here! Any suggestions?

TIA!

Call tech support again and stay on the phone until someone there solved it for you.

This is in the wrong forum by the way.
