As if the threat of being sued by the RIAA wasn't bad enough, now you have a new worm to worry about if you download music on peer-to-peer networks.

The new malware inserts links to dangerous Web pages within ASF (Advanced Systems Format) media files. "The possibility of this has been known for a little while but this is the first time we've seen it done," said David Emm, senior technology consultant for security vendor Kaspersky Lab.

I don't like .asf's anyway
I tend to just grab the url from the .asf and download the media file anyway. Saves having to repeatedly download the file every time I want to view/listen to it.

If it's a link to a malicious website, I'd probably be able to tell....

The only problem with iTunes is that if your into music that isn't in the top ten or of a quite common genera you are stuffed for finding it, I am into alot of industrial, EBM etc so you can't find it there. That is why people still use torrents that an people are still getting ripped off on the price of music.

Interesting news this worm...
