ok here is my problem i just installed xp on my computer, my friend borrowed my cd with the service packs and patches so i decided to to install avg anti virus and norton ghost then make a image of my computer. But i needed to go on the net for the avg serial and then to update avg took about 10min and i got a terrible virus that i had before i have dail up and when i am not connected its trying to dail out to warez sites and other sites. Avg wont launch norton ghost wont launch(not even on safe mode), I used the mcaffe stinger it found a virus but i am still getting the same problem.

I don't understand how you can get a virus (or whatever) while getting AVG setup.
Download and run SypBot S&D, and CHShredder.
Next download and run HijackThis.
Caution: Do NOT fix any log items unless you are sure of what you're fixing. Many of the items are necessary for the functioning of your computer.
