Whenever I start up I get the following error message:

"RunDLL

There was a problem starting C:\Users\-\AppData\Roaming\wmsat.dll

The specified module could not be found."

Aparantly wmsat.dll is a malicious file so I would like to make sure everything is ok and get rid of this message.

Any advice?

I would certainly recommend you run an antivirus scan.

If you do not have an antivirus, you can get
Avast or AntiVir or AVG all for free from there websites.

I would also recommend running a full scan of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

This should clear out your problem.

I have fully up to date versions of Avast and Malwarebytes and have performed multiple full scans with both in the time since the message started appearing every time I turn on my laptop so I don't think I'm gonna resolve it that way.

However for argument's sake I did full scans with both today but they showed no infected files and I still get the error message upon restarting.

Anything else I can do?

the error will be happening because you have deleted the file, or you anti virus\malware software has
and the system still has a registry entry for that file to load on start up
look in msconfig and see if it is listed in the start up section
if not view the run & runonce locations in regedit and delete any that refer to that file
