my dad's desktop hijacked

Looks like this, with the DANGER: SPYWARE bit flashing:

Right-clicking the desktop does nothing. The account this infects takes forever to start up, and doesn't show any desktop icons until the fake warning finishes loading on the desktop.

How do I get rid of it? Tried AdAware, Spybot, and removing all the 8 or so trojan/spyware entries from the Startup list, to no effect.

You should start the PC in Safe mode and to try to locate the problem. If you can not remove it is better to ask for help from someone that has good knowledge of windows. I suggest you guys to remove all the software programs that come preinstalled with the Pc. Most of them are vulnarable vulnerable for viruses.

Then download hijackthis...do a scan and post it in the hijackthis section. The hijacker you have (RazeSpyware) is part of the Smiitfraud/Spysheriff infection.
