My computer just seems to be sttutering when trying to handle some applications.It could be just lack of memory,but I would rather have you check out my log.Anyways its a brand new dell with a gig of ram and 2.0ghz core 2 duo processor.

I can see quite a few files in there that COULD be malicious, but with malware writers now using the same filenames as genuine and legitimate files, it's sometimes difficult to tell apart the good from the bad.

Just one example being "ehtray.exe" that can be GOOD, but can also be BAD:

Unless someone with better knowledge of HiJackThis comes along, I would personally recommend installing the free trial of Prevx1. This will scan your PC and remove any infections it finds free of charge.

Have you had any luck with this ?
What programs ran slowly ?
I've just had a couple of new Dells run extremely slow with Outlook on a corporate network, pauses ever 10-20secs . . started to drive me crazy.

I've got a new dell myself and didn't have to problem that these other users were having, the difference was I didn't keep the Dell image and rebuilt XP etc the way I like it.

I've had 2 other dells that experience this slowness with outlook.

From what I found out it has something to do with the Anti-Virus (we use Trend Officescan) and Dells MediaDirect. Still investigating the problem but I have uninstalled Dells MediaDirect from XP and Outlook is flying along now. I never installed Dell MediaDirect within XP, I have the multi-boot mediadirect just not the XP one.

Found your post when looking for this problem and seeing if there is a fix for MediaDirect or something else that can be done to fix it and thought I would let you know my findings
