Mom's laptop got a virus.

Recently my mom got a virus that has messed with her internet settings. She can still connect to the internet and send/receive emails using outlook but she cannot browse any websites using IE or Firefox. When she goes to load up a page she gets an error stating that her proxy servers are wrong. This happened to me a while back but I was too lazy to go in and fix the issue so I just reinstalled windows which isn't really an option with her laptop.

I've used SpyBot, MSE, AVG, and run CCleaner. Still no luck.

My dad just walked into my room and told me that he had found the problem. Apparently its some sort of a virus/spyware that goes in and changes your proxy settings, however to fix the issue you just uncheck a box in internet explorer.

That entry may be removed using hijackthis, may show up as an invalid IP address which you remove with hijackthis, usually it looks like 127.0.0.1 or something like that.
