Granted it does include a firewall with it, but is this bloat justified ? I've never had annything but McAfee so I wouldn't know.

I can also switch to Symantec corporate edition + Zone alarm . Would that be easier on the resources ?

Norton and Mcaffee are resource hogs.

Symantec Corporate Edition is not a hog at all, maybe 20MB max.
Zone Alarm is OK for resources, but I recommend Avast. It's a light antivirus, and free.

So is AVG free better than Symantec corporate ? ( I get Symantec from my school so its freeware as far as I'm concerned )

Any good alternatives to zone alarm ?

Windows XP's firewall is fine.

If you don't have XP, i recommend using Zone Alarm, even though it uses more resources than XP's firewall.

XP only scans incoming connections, and doesn't care about outgoing connections. Would prefer a software doing that, 'coz thats one way of detecting a virus.
