Remove the following:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.better-search.net/?src=10...06678336288824

Do you know what this entry is?
O16 - DPF: {AA2FCC44-64E5-437A-AEDE-8854387EB9F4} (SystemCenter.VirtualMachineManager.VMMCtlAx.VMCon nect) - https://labview.heartland.edu/activex/vmmctlax_i386.cab

Also, as for MBAM... are you getting the Pro version or just the normal Free version?

The heartland one is my school blackboard......I'm using the free mbam.....and thanks for all of the replys....how did you know which ones are bad?

Practice and experience at removing malware mostly ;).

For the MBAM runtime error, try the steps listed here (there's a link to a clean uninstall guide there): https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/149547-malwarebytes-premium-work-start-up/?p=835363

Could you post the entries in the Startup tab of msconfig as well? A screenshot is alright if it's easier than typing everything out.

Also, when you replace Norton, when uninstalling it... just run the Norton Removal Tool instead of trying to manually uninstall it yourself. The tool does a much better job than manually doing it: https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us

I'm sorry are you talking about this

Could a virus slow down my internet....I did a test and it's at 3.8 upload and should be at 25

Lots of variables/factors can affect your speed. How many systems are on your network? Streaming any movies or downloading anything large? Are you on wired or wireless?

Usually the only kind of malware that would affect speed is something like a trojan downloader or a botnet infection, where your computer would be considered a "zombie" or "slave".

Do you have another device on your network that you can test your network speed with to find out if it's something wrong with your computer or the entire network.

If you get the same speed on the other device as you do on your system...then it's either network issue or could still be malware. To find out, turn off your system, and test on the network again with the secondary device and see if the speed remains around the same or if it dramatically goes up.
