Major Virus Let Go.....

Okay My friends computer has a virus and it has been let go so there have been more and more added to it to the point her internet and computer are so slow its not even worth going onto anymore. One virus I noticed was the 180searchassistant and there is more.......... HELP

he said there was more, if it is truly to slow to use internet than its either a slower processer or is infected with alot of virused.

Ok have you heard of firefox and not using IE, also try some AV like uh AVG or avasti.

Get to another PC with an internet connection and download some free virus software like AVG. Free AVG let's you make a bootable disk with their software on it so you don't have to log into windows.

Just boot to that floppy and run the anti-virus off of it. Disconnect your internet connection first, then log into windows normally and you can run it again.

Then get a firewall, like free zonealarm and free spyware removal like adaware.

lilsteph1990, use your computer to download HijackThis onto a floppy (it should fit). Install HijackThis on your friends computer from the floppy (don't run it from the floppy). Save HJT to a folder of its own preferably on C:\. Open HJT, click on Scan and Save Log Don't fix anything yet. Copy the log and post it in the Hijack This Logs (Analyze) part of this forum. Let MicroBell take a look at the problems and give advice for cleaning. Keep the infected computer OFF the internet until cleaned, or the infections will keep mounting up.

If you have a cd burner you might get all of these (downloaded to your computer, update, and then burn to a cd for your friend)

After you have downloaded/updated each program, burn to CD then take to yuur friends computer to INSTALL each program. Run each program and let Adaware and Spybot fix everything found.
THEN install and run HijackThis with the Scan and Save Log button. Save that log and post back here as suggested above.
