This Topic relates directly to "whats the worst ever" i posted previously.
this guy I know comes to me and says whenever he opens firefox or IE it closes imediatly and windows gives him an error. and also that he gets alot of pop ups. So I guess Its from spyware and viruses/trojans and I was right. This is what I found..
17 Viruses/trojans found and deleted with AVG and Avast
292 Pieces of spyware deleted with Adware SE Personnel and Spybot
20 Hijackthis logs entries fixed
2 entries found with cdshredder
and So I gave him Avast, SpywareBlaster, Spybot and Adware SE personnel.
I also disabled System restore because of so many viruses.
after I did all this, I was able to access firefox for a short perid of time. After I restarted, it happened all over. Firefox and IE wouldn't open and would give us the, windows has encountered an error and has closed this program blah blah blah. So Im guessing that some of the things I deleted came back because they were not fully removed. He doesn't want to reformat and doesn't have a legal version of windows so I couldn't run the Updates. His system Specs are this Im guessing.
AMD Duron, sempron or Athlon. no higher then a 2800+
512 Megs of RAM (value RAM)
some ASUS board
10GB IDE segate HD
intergrated graphics
CD-RW
sound blaster PCI card.
XP Professional
I uninstalled and then reinstalled firefox into a different folder, but same errors. I don't know what else to do.
