lock1.exe

If you don't want to clean it up, you don't have to. If you don't pay bills online you are fine. If you have no personal information on your machine it doesn't matter. do what you wish.

So the only way to get rid of this thing is to format, correct? What can I do to prevent getting this again? I don't open e-mail attachments that I don't know who the sender is. I'm pretty careful downloading things.

EDIT

baronvongogo...I followed those steps, but the only thing I could find was Viewpoint. I don't see lock1.exe anywere anymore, even when I run msconfig and look under Services. Maybe it's gone? Nothing has seemed to work.

did you try all this:

its from: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic34438.html

The link versions better has things in bold and colours to guide you

Boot in Safe Mode, see how here.
Switch System restore OFF, see how here.
In Windows Explorer, turn on "show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.
Next, open Windows Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
Click the Processes tab, select the process (if there) and click End Process for:
winampa.exe
ViewMgr.exe
WinFixer2005ScannerInstall[1].exe
lock1.exe
c4nn0t.exe
Weather.exe
KHost.exe
LimeWire.exe

Next, click on Start/Run and type in (followed by press Enter):
regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssttt.dll
regsvr32 /u C:\Program Files\AIM Toolbar\AIMBar.dll

Next, click Start/Control Panel/Add/Remove Programs. If there, UNinstall anything to do with:
C:\Program Files\AIM Toolbar\AIMBar.dll
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
C:\Program Files\My Love\c4nn0t.exe ..(SECRETSERVICE)
C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe
C:\WINDOWS\kdx\KHost.exe ... (Kontiki Host)
C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire 4.2.6\LimeWire.exe
==>> and you should UNinstall MSN Messenger as well, major source of infections! <<==

Next, click Start/Run and type services.msc and click OK. Look for the service:
lock1.exe
Doubleclick it, click Stop if it's running, and change the Startup type to Disabled.

Next, run a HJT scan and (if still there) place a tick-mark in the little square before:

Yes, that's the link I followed and the only thing I found was Viewpoint. Found nothing in Services.msc and nothing in the Add/Remove Programs.

Yes I did. *crosses fingers*

Not sure when I payed my Cingular phone bill. My CC# is stored...so is there anyway this virus could of gotten that? All I do is click "Pay Bill" and it changes my card.

I dont no, Iv had viruses and trojans and normally my anti virus or spyware programs get rid and I dont worry but what you had seem a lot more nasty. Have you downloaded anything recently? do you use a firewall?
