Good morning all,

Have a question for Lobos or Dave (or anyone else that can help me - Lobos and Dave helped me before....)

McAffee keeps catching different versions of the Startpage trojan - is there ANY way to block it from my system??

BTW Lobos - things are working great on my PC - thanks again for all of your help!

:p - Deb

Hi Deb. Quit going to those pron sites and you'll quit getting that trojan! J/k.

Is McAffee catching it while it's trying to load? Or is it saying it's there and can't get rid of it?

I suggest Spyware Blaster for preventive measures, and if it's already there, try installing AVG to help you out. AVG does work well with other AVs.

Dave :D

Morning Dave....

Oh damn, ya caught me ;) !! I couldnt tell you the location of a porn site on this thing...hmmmmmmmmm maybe its my husband eh? LOL!

McAfee catches it and a box pops up saying its either detected it and deleted it OR that it cant be deleted or cleaned....I've had both pop up. Then I run AV and the trojans located - which I dont understand if McAfee caught it as it says and deleted it from the system. Shouldnt it be gone after that??

I cant get Spyblaster to load up, I always get the error "bad disc sector or program error" - I managed to get SpyGaurd loaded the last time Lobos helped me with that damn about:blank page but Blaster wont load. Java said there were some problems with it....guess I'll chk back with him and see if its fixed yet.

(pours some prune juice in your coffee)....CHEERS MATE! :p

Hiya Lobos,

Sorry just now getting back with you - been hectic here. It starts upon Startup of my system - I just posted another problem that has to do with this basically - I have that damn twaintec.dll trojan along with the StartPage-DU. I posted a log under my previous posting of TWAINTEC.DLL...

Not sure why I cant get rid of this though - its protected and I cant delete it....didnt see it in registry but its there under my WINDOWS program....

Hope you're having a great day! :D *lord knows I'm not* LOL

Hugs,
deb

PS - What is the IE program you have marked at the bottom of your post? Is that something I should have? Read it but not sure exactly if I need it. I've got Adaware, Spyguard, McAfee, I ran RAV and have Panda as well - I cant get Spywareblaster to install for some reason. Thnx!
