IE and My computer Probs!! Can you help?

Ok,imma start off,i just restarted my computer,I have windows xp sp1, I try to run my IE and when I hit tab,it freezes for like 10 secounds then it lets me search,but everytime i hit tab IE delays for 10 secounds,also when I go to my computer to get to my hard drives,the flash light starts lookin for my hard drives for like 10 secounds then it lets me get to them,I had this problem before and I had to restore,anyone can help me with this?

When was the last time you defragmented your hard drive?

I think its a spyware issue,it was working fine,my girlfriend got on the computer earlier and thats when It started doing this agian.

why still using service pack 1? If your good with computers then its ok but if your not then probably not a wise move.
