Having a problem with the pc due to picking up a virus (or four) on friday.
cleaned up the infected files, but everytime you second click any of the desktop icons, they all dissapear.
system restore has also been reset.
it had updated to Windows IE 7 just before i went away, as ive been away traveling... and updated/scanned over the w/e.
my housemate has been using it and freely admitted it may be his fault the viruses are on there, and hasn't run a scan since ive been away.
cheers for any advice, prefere not to format as there's loads of software... ran tune up utilites for registry errors, spybot and NOD32 (now installed) ... checked MS auto up-dates but nothing detected other than the four cleaned viruses on friday.
