Hello, and am I glad I found this site. I have been plagued with malware that I can't remove it's been bugging the beeguzes out of me.
I've ran spybot adaware, and nortons and can't find the source. it's mostly in IE. the thing is there are two diferent kinds of pop-ups one where it is imbedded into IE, and the other is basic pop-up. my pop killer is working over time and can't catch them all because they are coming up with blank boxes? I did the rules that was posted at the beginning of this forum and no posting my HJT log So if anyone can help I would be damned appreciated

Lets do this first

Go to start, run, type msconfig, go to the startup tab, click disable all, then go back and re-checkmark your antivirus, click apply, ok, but dont reboot yet

Download this Msconfig Cleanup
run it, and click select all, then click cleanup selected, close it.

Now, download these if you dont have them

Microsoft Antispyware Beta
MAS Beta

Lavasoft

Spybot
Here

Run those, update them and remove anything they find. When you run Microsoft antispy, when it finishes scanning, make sure it says remove and not ignore on any spyware you have unless you have VNC or something similar.

Then go to C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch and delete that folder. It will re-appear when you reboot

Delete all cookies and Temporary Internet Files

Make sure you have all Windows Updates

Now reboot into Safemode and run those scans again. Remove anything they find. Reboot
Once back at your desktop, run hijack this and post it here again

Download this Msconfig Cleanup
run it, and click select all, then click cleanup selected, close it.

Again...your disableing LEGIT entrys with that program. That is NOT the way to clean out an infection and your going to trash some poor users startup entrys for an application by using this tool.

Compare both of this users logs and see what you turned off.

Well first of all, Thats why I had him/her use msconfig first to disable everything and then re-check her Antivirus. The only thing that it removes is the unchecked entries and if I did tell her/him to remove, it's not hard to get it back in the startup as you must know, you always say I'm doing something wrong but to this day, I have never had a complaint, except by you. Just because you do things different than I do, doesn't mean what I do dont work.
