latlely my computer is been acting its been getting alot of pop-ups that come up frequently for porn,gambling and shopping and i hit ctrl alt delete and i see something called project 1 running in the task manager i dont know what that is does any one know what it is and how i can make my pc run run better

first thing you should do is do a full system scan with your anti-virus, anti-spyware and all that other computer protection you got. If that doesnt work then you should re-install your operating system its not that hard, just a bit time consuming. Oh and don't look at anymore porn sites unless you know what your doing.

i seriously doubt this person knows how to repair windows manually, its best just to re-install the os.

You guys jump the gun to much. A reformat and reinstall is like last resort.

What Internet Broswer do you use?
whats your Anti Virus?
Got any Spyware programs?

If you have norton I reccomend replacing it with avast or AVG both free.

some free and very good anti spyware programs are.
SpywareBlaster
SpyBot search and Destroy
Adware SE personnel


Also Donwload Hijackthis, run it and post lof here or in the "hijackthis log" area.

I also would reccomend that you no longer use IE if you do. I would user Firefox or opera they are much safer broswers.

Hey, if he does not know, he can ask. Repairing saves a lot of time, as it does not delete anything, and keeps all your settings.
