Recently my brother accidentally downloaded the frmwrk32.exe file which as I have now read is a malicious software.

The problem is my brother ran AVG and it has quarantined the files in it's virus vault. Since doing that the internet doesn't seem to be working (I'm having to write this at the library).

I have noticed that AVG has moved a registry file to the Virus Vault. Could that registry file have some connection to the internet no longer working. It has something to do with my modem settings and when I try logging on to AOL a message comes up saying:

"Bad address specified"

Naturally I need to get this problem sorted out first before I can resolve the other problems with frmwrk32.exe

Can anyone please advise me on what I should do?

Also can someone please tell me how to enable the task manager and enable my destop settings again please?

I know it has something to do with the Regedit files. How do you go about opening them and making the changes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated please.

Can you transfer hijackthis to the pc, run it, save the log to thumbdrive, etc and then post it here?
