Free up space

Ok so currently my computer is running kind of slow and I'm trying my best to find a FREE easy way to make it run faster.

I run the typical adaware (free) at least every other day. I do need to update my Norton Anti-Virus yes. I got rid of programs I no longer need or use to free up disk space. I run a defragment test here and there to rearrange items on my hard drive to again free up space. (pretty sure thats what it does). Anyways, is there a good program (free) I can download that will help it run faster, or any other method that I can do.

What are your system specs?

And yep, uninstall norton, and get another antivirus software. There a are many free ones available which take up very little system resources, such as Avast! and AVG.

If you do decide to uninstall Norton, use the Norton Removal Tool from symantec to remove all Norton files from the system.

Now that you mention it, I did notice Norton slowed my computer down much more after it was installed on my computer.
