Firewall problem

Recently, i find that i cannot open my firewall and msn simultaneously. Not only msn, as long as i open the firewall, the speed would slow down, and i even couldn't do my routine works. That has never happened before, and i cannot find out the reason.

Now, i have to close the firewall which is obviously dangerous to fight against virus from internet.

What should i do?

what is the program or is it windows firewall. Why dont you disable windows firewall and use Zone alarm which can be download from downlaod.com
