A firefox pop up blocker for --different-- ads?

Before I go into detail (According to the description of this section "and other crazy things that waste your time fixing" I am posting in the correct section, if not please move this to the off topic section.)

Basically everyday I am confronted with a pop up that gives me a message blocking me from leaving, usually with a trick answer, I am curious on how or what can stop these websites from blocking me from leaving. Example below.

Pop up appears
I switch windows
I click X to close the pop up
the popup tells me something along the lines of "WAIT!!! Click OK to read more!!!"
when the only option is OK i click "X" on the message
I then try to leave
It gives me the same message
I press OK
It links me to another site
I then try to leave
it then gives me the same message, forever blocking me to leave!!!


so what can stop these messages, that block me from leaving????

I've not ran into one of those in a very long time, probably due to the extensions I use. I'll list the pertinent ones that may apply to your situation.

Adblock Plus
Flashblock
NoScript

NoScript may be the best one in your situation, but I would install them all.

That issue sounds like 1 of those Rick Roll websites that hits you popups forever while playing the song in the background lol. Those extentions Trotter listed works wonders .

What's even worse is the lastfrag halololol thing where it shows male body parts everywhere and continuously plays the ending to Halo Reach. >.>
Does the exact same thing.
