a.exe virus - plays the radio??

An interestingly behaving virus has infected my computer's innards.

It uses quite a bit of mem on my processes and disguises itself under "a.exe"

After a while I will hear clicking, like the sound of the user hitting a hyperlink, then sometimes it will play clips from radio stations? I've had a journalist from the telegraph and some heavy metal. There is no application visible when i hear the sound, its as if it comes from no where, then i click close a.exe and its disappears.

I'm running AVG. It said it removed the virus yet it persists. It can't find it at the moment so i can't give any more info yet.

I've tried malwarebytes anti-malware shoftware.

AMD dual core XP 6000+
4 gig ram
Windows xp SP3

My friend had a similar problem on his virus-ridden comp, we left it alone for a few days just to laugh at the randomness that would result.
Unfortunately I can't advise you on removing it, for I formatted it.
