I'm having problems updating Spybot. Everytime I click on "Search for Updates" I get a message that says:

"Error retrieving update info file!

Socket Error # 11001
Host not found."

requiemmass, you may have to uninstall and then reinstall. But in the meantime, download and run AdAware SE (link is in my signature) and see if that will clean you up. Liz

I am having the same issue attempting to update Spybot and getting an error Socket Errot # 11001.
I have used Adaware and cleaned minimal adware related registry entries (Alexa) and tracking cookies.
I have ensured my browser is configured correctly to use a proxy server, but don't know what the host is that spybot can't connect to. Is it looking for the proxy server or the spybot download server? If anyone can helpl with this, please let me know.
